Auction Applications (APP’s)
The information we collect from the Thaba Tholo timed auctions applications (App’s) is collected for a specific, explicitly defined and lawful purpose related to the activities of Thaba Tholo. When you subscribe and/or register on our App,you generally provide (a) your name, email, mobile number, user name, password and other registration information; (b) transaction-related information, such as when you make bids, or view catalogues and associated lots; (c) or information you provide us when you contact us for help.
We may also use the information you provided us to contact you from time to time to provide you with important information, required notices, and marketing promotions. All mandatory information is made known on the App and is necessary to complete the registration process. In addition, the App itself may collect certain information automatically, including, but not limited to; the type of mobile device you use, your mobile devices unique device ID, the IP address of your mobile device, your mobile operating system, the type of mobile Internet browsers you use, and information about the way you use the Application.
Data Retention
We will retain collected data –
· As long as you form part of our client data base;
· For 60 months and thereafter may store it in aggregate;
· As per Company Policies and Statutory Retention periods.
Your legal rights
· You have the right of access to your personal information;
· To request corrections to your records when the data is out of date, incomplete, inaccurate, excessive, or obtained unlawfully;
· You may modify your communication preferences and/or opt-out from specific communications i.e. marketing mails, at any time;
· You may request us to delete all personal data or information about you.

Where you believe your rights have been infringed upon, a complaint may be submitted to the Information Regulator - an independent body charged with the monitoring and enforcement of data protection throughout South Africa.

Security of Information
We employ industry standard techniques to protect against unauthorized access of any data about you that we store. We take reasonable steps to protect personally identifiable information from loss, misuse, and unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. However, you should also keep in mind that no Internet transmission is ever completely secure or error-free; in particular, communications sent to or from Websites or Social Media platforms.
About Children
Our Website and our social media platforms are not intended for children under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information via our Website or social Media platforms from visitors in this age group. If we discover that a child under 18 has provided us with personal information, we will immediately delete said information and inform his/her parents or guardians. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so that we will be able to take the necessary steps.
